Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

iTunes is fine as a media player. I don't use it, but I've never really had a problem with it. I don't think Curt's point was that iTunes sucks either, it was that it's stupid that iPods require you to use iTunes and that you can't simply drag and drop music on there. Which this requirement is typi...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

No, the message says something about not being able to sync to multiple iTunes libraries, even though, like I said, that I dont have auto sync turned on. Yeah, I think you're sol with the Shuffle. That's probably part of the reason it's so freaking cheap, that and that its battery will die and then...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

And if you're blaming Apple for the DRM they have on their songs then I'd suggest your frustrations would be better directed towards the record companies, not Apple. 1) I plug iPod into laptop 2) iTunes prompts me w/ the following options: "Erase and Re-sync" and "Cancel". That's not a DRM issue. A...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

So, in other words, Apple assumed that anyone that owns an iPod doesn't own more than one computer with music that the own on them. If Microsoft did something that god damn stupid, I think the world would spontaneously implode due to the internets outrage it would cause. Well, you can move your DRM...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

The point, which clearly escaped our resident Mac yuppies, is that if you're goin gto go around mouthing off about how OSX is superior to everything else, then perhaps you should at least have a decent amount of knowledge about the products you are claiming are inferior. No, I think the point is pr...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

What does being lost on a Windows machine mean anyway? Why is that a barometer of computer competency? What about how lost Windows users are on Macs? How is that different? That's a fair point about Windows being the "benchmark for competency". Uh, sorry, but that ain't the case. And what about how...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

I hung out with a lot of tech geeks in college.. I can't see a single one ever moving to Mac. Even the one who used Linux and laughed at Windows I couldn't ever see going there. 99% of the people I see using it are as OS described. Where these so-called computer nerds are that are using them I have...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

not to be cliche, mark, but i have built my own computers since i was 13, so i know a considerable amount about them, and i agree 100% with what OS says. The only people who are die hard advocates of macs are those who don't really understand how computers work in the first place. I might be irked ...

Re: Mac-like Toolbar Utility for Windows

Having used both for years, and supported both professionally for years, I have to hand it to Apple. Main reason why? Flexibility. I can run Windows & OS X natively on one machine with zero hassle. Heck, most users are capable of running either operating system on Apple's hardware. It's just that ea...

Re: Appliances

Is there a good time of year to buy appliances? There's two answers to that. Best time for sales is in the spring around tax refund times. Stores usually offer the most around that time. Best time for haggling is during the Christmas season. Appliance sales generally take a huge dive in the last qu...

Re: Appliances

Any thoughts on Maytag? I'm starting to shop around for new appliances for the kitchen and Home Depot has a rebate deal with Maytag right now. Is it still a quality brand? JMHO, but I never was much of a Maytag fan. The appliances were decent enough but their products always seemed to be overpriced.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 4 -- Tuesday

I'm loving it so far. I avoided almost all pre-release hype down to where I watched the original trailer and that was it. So, I had no expectations and now I'm VERY glad that I did that. The online mode (Franking) rocks so far. And I've only played like two of the modes. FWIW, gamertag is markisaner...

F2k Hockey

So, after not having any roster updates since December, it has finally been announced that 2k Hockey will not receive any further updates this year. Link I'd like to go and complain about it on the 2k Sports forums (since 2khockey.net blew up) but they've got some serious getstapo-ish mods over ther...
