i don't get the "absolutely no chance at a playoff run" bit. as i said earlier, it's pretty damn early in the season for so many haters to be out. feel the love.... drink the kool-aid.... love the puck. be the puck. enjoy hockey on the ice. win, lose, who cares? the game of the gods is back, and we...

Khavanov?

SE
Khavy will probably be getting his shot blocked on the pp, and giving up the puck in his own end while playing in russia this year.

Cusamano is putting in his $0.02. on 590 right now. Basically the Anti-fans are coming out of the wood work. At least 590 teamed Cus and Burwell uptogether so they pollute the airwaves with their hockey hating in one specific timeframe. Cusamano is interviewing Bill Clement at the moment, and...

No. 312 Author: sbonitatibus i absolutely love how all these oiler fans think pronger makes the team an automatic contender! I guarantee nothing will come about this. One player alone doesn't do it (unless you're Gretzky or Lemieux). The Blues GM is gonna have the last laugh. The Blues may not win ...

ditto.

Of course, I'm concerned about how effective Kitch, operating with a one year contract, is going to be in motivating this squad.

You are all looking at this the wrong way. Brewer is a restricted free agent. So essentially the Blues have traded Pronger for the chance to sign a free agent (Because there aren’t very many of those around  ) and two minor leaguers. The Blues would have been better off letting him walk and...

If the Blues weren't gonna sign him long term, this was a good move. At least we got some immediate, less expensive help instead of just prospects. Still, if he would sign for 5.5 mil as reported, they are nuts for not jumping all over it. They hired that consultant to consult, but Laurie is still ...

Very curious to see if now that the Pronger thing is settled we make a move in free agency. I'm not expecting a huge name but we could use a couple guys who can score 20. Hope I'm wrong, but considering the Lauries budget mandante - I think the best we can hope for would be one forward that fits th...

Couldn't sleep, so I got up and decided to see if there had been any more signings.... wow.. This one came out of left field.. Who wud a thunk - Edmonton??? With the ownership situation, our budget, and within the context that Pronger simply had to be dealt or lose him for nothing at the end of the ...

Wow that was fast! I hardly blinked an eye and they already have a new CBA?! I thought it was going to take a decade. I totally forgot to watch the season last year. You can imagine my relief when I found out it was cancelled! You think that's bad? I burned 35 dvd's of games that weren't the...

What about if Crosby goes to the Red Wings? I'd rather see that than watch him put on a Rangers jersey. Thats the Blues fan in me speaking.... The nhl fan in me, knows that the league is probably better off with Crosby going to the stinking Rangers. How is that the Blues fan in you speaking...

I know that for the sake of the league as a whole, it would be good if Crosby goes to the Rangers, but, if he does, I'm going to throw up.

Sportsnet reports the deal is done, and the pa is conferencing with the team reps now. Bettman and Goodenow will sign it after ratification.

edit - it's on the nhlpa website now also.

now we just need ratification and we are back in business!!!

Bob McKenzie: I'm feeling overly optimistic today Pretty cool that an old salt like McKenzie would stay up all night in anticipation. Yeah, it's job related, but I'm guessing he could have assigned an intern to wake him up in case of a deal. In light of Fishler's article saying it was completed - I...

They are not blaming Goodenow because that would involve taking responsibility for allowing themselves to be led blindly and passively to disaster.
