Too many defensive breakdowns, and Elliott was not good enough. Make a big save.

I understand the GLG was fluky, but don't put yourself in that position.

Re: Blues re-sign Berglund to 3 year deal

Unless the real explanation is the the organization thinks that the Blues fanbase are a bunch of rubes who want the familiar rather than the good.

Re: P-D: Blues might trade 1st rd pick to build around Taras

I think the board is pretty much in agreement that Spezza is the guy we should be going after. There are enough parts to get a deal done, and I am going to be upset if the leadership can't make it happen. The white elephant in the room though is the Ottawa GM and whether he will be reasonable for w...

Yawn. No changes, no one takes responsibility for the collapse, wash, rinse, repeat.

Re: Blues Re-Sign Brian Elliott to 3 year deal

Good to see everyone's excited about trading Chris Stewart, a prospect, and two picks for nothing, and that we're going into the season with a career backup and a minor league prospect in goal. THE CUP IS OURS! I can't think of a more St. Louis Blues thing to be excited about. The fact that e...

Re: Perspective

You know what's amazing? The Blues have 130 wins in the past 3 seasons which is more than ANY other western conference team yet haven't won a SINGLE second round game! It's such an amazing stat I have mentioned it in other threads. Yeah... please don't do that. Seriously, all this guy has done has ...

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

Armstrong has brought in key members of the organization including 2012 Jack Adams winner Ken Hitchcock and 2012 Jennings Trophy winners Brian Elliott and Jaroslav Halak. Armstrong has also orchestrated the additions of Chris Stewart, Kevin Shattenkirk and Jay Bouwmeester, as well as the drafts of ...

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

Some of you need to look up Stockholm Syndrome. Good to see I'm supposed to be excited about the same lineup that's failed for three straight years, only with no goalie and the same lack of scoring ability. Sign me up.

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

I fear that most of the comments in today's presser centered around (a) Army and Hitch are not planning on changing much, and (b) most of the changes are going to come from within, as today was mostly a laundry list of "It wasn't on _________" and how Jaskin/Rattie/Allen are all going to get jobs. T...

Most trolls leave a fanbase alone after the season is over, but not you. You must be trying to earn a troll merit badge or something.

Which part was the great season: the 82 games that didn't count, or the six that did?

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

Getting rid of Armstrong is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have read in this thread. Armstrong Stays. Hitchcock Stays. They don't need to do a lot to this roster. We can let almost all of the UFA's walk without hurting the team at all. Our UFA's and their salaries this last year: - Berglund - $...

Re: Who are you pulling for the rest of the way?

Yesterday was the last hockey game I'll watch. It's pretty much Sporting Kansas City and the US National Team in the World Cup. I usually call this time of year the Sports Off-Season, but the WC helps. You've got good taste in soccer teams. Darn right. I know it's supposedly heresy to follow SKC in...

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

If the franchise stands pat, the rubes that buy tickets will have a lot of elbow room at the regular season games.

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

Agreed. I'd love to have Ovie. But, I don't see it happening. And, if it did, we'd be without any prospects. FA is the way to go for missing pieces right now. Ovie was like -35 this year and the knock on him is he plays no defense which is shown in the numbers. One dimensional player. Can't win tha...

Re: Offseason Changes to the Roster?

How is it an automatic assumption that Miller is gone? I think it's a very real possibility the Blues retain him. An Elliot/Allen combo scares the crap out of me, I can't fathom how any of you are comfortable with that idea... You're willing to switch that extra 3rd rounder into a 1st rounder, AND ...

Re: Hitch: Keep or Fire?

I don't think I could handle that Sleestack-looking sucker coaching St. Louis. I'd be much happier with a younger guy. Let's try someone with some success in the minors under 50, throw him the keys, and let's find out what happens. I think we have enough talent that I'm not afraid of him not making...
