Given that Capitals just gave a 3rd rounder for Kovalchuk to the Canadiens, a 2nd and a cond. 4th for Scandella looks pretty good. Caps are trying to assemble the Russian national team circa 2014.

Bortuzzo is projected to start which baffles me since the downside of playing Mikkola is practically nonexistent at this point. The only reason I can think of is that the Blues management have 100% confidence in Mikkola and are playing Bortuzzo before the trade deadline.

The refs didn't stop play when a Predators play took a puck to the face and was on the ice in some distress in the 1st period, so not stopping it for Barbashev is fair, IMO. Refs clearly saw Barbie get hit in the head and go down. Didn’t blow the whistle. He was clearly not with it completely when the third goal was scored. Surprised refs didn’t stop the game there.
