Re: 2014-2015 Post Mortem

To anyone with eyes who wasn't simply going to follow some stupid baseball-esque unwritten rule about hockey, it was obvious. The first goal was terrible, and Allen was a visible headcase after. He couldn't hardly play a puck cleared behind his own net without almost muffing it into his own goal, an...

Re: 2014-2015 Post Mortem

It's not Allen's fault. I don't think Hitch can be faulted for playing Allen throughout the series. I think he can be faulted for not pulling Allen after the second goal in game 5 and the first goal in game 6. Allen obviously didn't have it mentally, and those were must-win games. You have to have a...

Re: 2014-2015 Post Mortem

Nice strawman. So, if they destroyed everything that the franchise was, and then won, it would be obvious that they did the right thing. Well duh. And, frankly, they ought to do that. I'd even consider changing the logo and colors. Anything to get rid of the loser status of this franchise. Blow up t...

Re: 2014-2015 Post Mortem

May as well get this thing rolling right away. That said, I am righteously pissed. Not Nyghtwynd pissed, not that level. I don't pin this teams entire history on why they lost this series. It's ridiculous to blame nearly 50 years of failure for this core's inability to get it done. I find it amusin...

You may want to let that genius know that Hitch has no contract. He's not going to be fired. He's simply not going to be resigned.

There's no point in talking about him. I can't even figure out why Stillman is letting him do the postgame presser.

Doug Armstrong, ladies and gentlemen. Doug Armstrong. If you didn't see this coming, then I can't learn for you. You're just not very bright. I feel bad for Stillman, because he seems like a pretty nice guy who tried hard. But you can't build a team with a below-average GM, and Stillman kept him. Ne...

At some point in time, you're going to be forced to accept the fact that you want the St. Louis Blues to win WAY more than the St. Louis Blues franchise does.

He's going to get his wish. The die has been cast now. He can't be kept if he couldn't be trusted to be better than Allen.

So now are we not only going to get a new coach and (preferably) a new GM with a loss, we're going to get a goalie controversy. This franchise just gets better and better.

Jake Allen will be one of the few parts kept for the rebuild, but he stunk tonight. Did virtually nothing.

I hope the fans boo Oshie, Backes, and Hitch off of the ice. The odds are that they won't get another chance.

Same ol' sorry-a** Blues.

Allen has been great this series, but he's done zilch tonight. 3 goals on only 12 shots is unacceptable.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the quintessential Doug Armstrong team. Nearly every pickup a healthy scratch, the 'core' of the team does nothing, and 82 games gets thrown away in two hours.

Re: Round One : St. Louis Blues v Minnesota Wild

I think the Blues are the better team, and I think they should win. Balancing against that is that they're essentially playing for the future of the regime...if you lose in the first round again, especially to a team like Minnesota, you gotta fire everybody...coach, GM, players, etc. I think they'll...

Fantastic win. First time all year I've used the term "gutsy" to describe a performance. They spent so much time in their own end for the final 7m that I was waiting for the tying goal to go in, and it never did. Nice work.
