Not that I disagree that this idea has merit with the current system, but once you have to start "cheating" to circumvent a system then it's more than likely that the process is broken. The nhl just needs to fix the waiver process.

Yeah, they must project him highly. A guy making 4.5m/season should hopefully be dishing out 20-30 goals and 60 or so points. If he doesn't progress from his current ability I think the Blues will come to regret this deal. He definitely has the potential to make the contract worth while though. But ...
