Re: Blues Not Convinced They Need To Make Trades
I like the fact that the Blues have a gaggle of 20 to 30 goal scorers. There is a depth on this Blues that not many teams have. Anytime you rely on one or two guys or one line for scoring, you are bound to get burned by slumps and/or injuries. We've seen with all of these injuries that the Blues ar...

Re: Are the Blues giving up for the season?
New Jersey has lost one game in their last 14. NYI and Edmonton are always there to make the Blues look (good).

Re: Tarasenko extends his KHL contract
Haha. You were serious. However, why is that the blues have over $12 million in cap space? Some teams would kill to be able to spend $12 million over the cap! Dave Checketts is a business man, that's why he owns a number of sports teams if you haven't noticed - not just the Blues. He's all about mak...

Re: Tarasenko extends his KHL contract
Dollar Dave was the trigger man on drafting Tarasenko. He knew Tarasenko would never sign in St. Louis and it would save him some coin. Talented draft picks and free agents cost too much money! Why construct a winning team when you can sign players like Dean Arsene and still raise season ticket pric...

Players with 100 points last season: Sedin, Crosby, Ovechkin, Backstrom
Good luck. We'd be blessed to have 30/70+ in St. Louis.

Re: Blues done for the offseason?
Sure it would have been nice to sign a big name but at what price? In a couple years we may have to spend loads of money to keep our team together. :goblues: I've heard this argument a number of times, but I'm not sure it is true. Which players on our roster will require "loads of money" to sign? J...

Re: Blues done for the offseason?
The Blues are a frustrating team to follow. Over the past ten years it has been an equal split of "next season the veterans (Weight/Tkachuk) will step it up" for five years and more recently "next season the youth will arrive or improve". I'm not sure this franchise will ever commit to building a ch...

There's only one response to this:

1) Cory Stillman
2) Chris Osgood
Both had ok stats that were inflated by good team play or linemates... and they are sissies.

Re: Blues sign Ty Conklin (2 yrs @ 1.3 per season)
I like this signing as long as they considered Josh Harding first and determined he would cost too much (assets or money). Harding has the tools to challenge Mason as the starter, whereas Conklin is what he is - a solid backup. Well and we don't need anyone to challenge the starter this year. We sa...

I guess I trust in Jarmo as well, but is anyone else tiring of exclusively drafting players from Sweden?
