Re: Monday Night Miracle

To the Blues' credit, the Game 7 loss was competitive (2-1 score). Blues were a goal away from forcing OT and a possible series win. You have to feel proud of that team for battling to the end. My issue is that you think, "Hell yeah...we forced a game #7!! And we have a shot at going to the finals!!...

Re: Monday Night Miracle

Blues were down 4-1 going into the third period of an elimination game. Blues scored to make it 4-2, then Calgary made it 5-2. All this in third period. From then on, Blues scored next four goals, the tying with a minute left, to win in OT. Most consider it an improbable win. Hence the "miracle." Ag...

Re: Monday Night Miracle

I understand the disappointment that the MNM did not lead to a series win or a Stanley Cup. But that should not diminish the excitement and nostalgia of a single game. MNM is a franchise highlight but it is not THE highlight. No, that is reserved for the day the Blues win the Cup. Was it not a highl...

Re: Blues Framed Items

Thank you for the compliment. I slowly built up a collection, thinking someday I would display it all in the ultimate mancave. Alas, reality has set in. Still single, passed middle-age, living in apartment, and anticipating another move. Not looking to make a fortune, just to find a good home with d...

Ugh. Red trim? Red ! For a team with blue in its name. Horrors.

The Blues should conduct a jersey buyback program to collect and destroy the red Ornest-Era jerseys.

Re: ESPN Uni Watch Ranks Blues' 27th on Uni Power Rankings

Beats the trumpet, right? The Arch is the one thing that distinguishes the third jersey. Yet it ends up being in the background. That's why I don't like it. I would be receptive to something that puts the Arch front and center. Something like this: stlblues-3rd-022608.jpg I like our 3rd jerseys too....

Re: Blues get Paajarvi from EDM for Perron

Both sides are playing chicken. They're waiting until the start of training camp. The good news is that Petro does not seem inclined to hold out. Me thinks Petro will wind up with a bridge contract with AAV starting with number 6. Good contract... but what the hell is going on with Petro??? I'm full...

Re: Chances of seeing the CPR-line again in 2013-2014?

Hitchcock's comments imply he wants more from the fourth line. Better defense and more offense (of course). So the CPR Line has become an endangered species.

Re: Grantland: All Time 'Gave Up Too Soon' Roster

For the record, Keenan does not deserve credit for Demitra. Keenan wanted a body back so he could justify dumping Christer Olssen. One of the Blues scouts recommended Demitra. After deal was complete, Keenan buried Demitra in minors. Demitra did not get his chance until after Keenan was fired. Keena...

Maybe Perron can become the next former Blues to win a Cup and be inducted into Hall of Fame.

Re: Blues get Paajarvi from EDM for Perron

One longtime fan's opinion:

We traded skill for muscle and money. This is a Blues failure on the development front and in asset management.

Two thumbs down.

Re: Boycott: Make a Statement

I concur that the Blues owners were probably not among the hard liners. It's mostly speculation because none of us were privy to the owners' meetings. Is there a reliable list of the 30 owners that indicate whether each franchise should be punished or rewarded for its position during the labor dispu...

From what I've seen in the highlights, this is an activity where people dress up as gladiators on skates. Once on the ice, gladiators shed their gear to engage in bare-knuckled fights. In between fights, the less-skilled gladiators develop their hand-eye coordination by sweeping a small object with ...
