Re: Finally! Alaska Aces Are Back!
Welcome back. I'm bummed that I never went down to see the Evansville team when the Blues were affiliated with them. But the Aces as an ECHL affiliate just feels sort of natural. Glad they're back in the fold. Since we seem to have hockey through early and mid June up here (Kelly Cup Finals). That ...

Re: Finally! Alaska Aces Are Back!
Amid all of the other great things with being back in the Blues organization I am really hoping that the Aces current coach, Rob Murray, can remain somewhere with the Blues. At this level the Aces have had three steller coaches in Davis Payne (Blues / Kings), Brent Thompson (Islanders), and now Rob ...

Finally! Alaska Aces Are Back!
Finally after a couple of years away the Alaska Aces are back in the Blues organization. Believe me, there is no place I would rather the Aces be. This year the Aces are sharing an affiliation with the Blues and Wild. While I'm not much on the shared affiliation I'll take what I can get. For now I'm...

Re: Preseason Coverage
Thanks for the info. But yeah, I'm not having much luck getting those stations to load up for me. Hopefully later today the Blues web site will have a link for the broadcasts.

Preseason Coverage
Does anyone know if KMOX will be broadcasting the preseason games? Particularly the internet feed. It seems last year they didn't broadcast preseason games but it seems my memory, like other things, is somewhat failing here of late.

Re: New group interested in buying Blues
Just one way or the other I hope this gets settled soon!
Beyond that, whoever the new owners are I hope they still like us up here...you know the whole Alaska connection. If it meant keeping our affiliation with the Blues I would take them fishing!

Re: JR: Armstrong says Blues regulars must earn ice time
"If (the regulars) are not pulling their weight and they have to go to the minors on a one-way deal, so be it," he said. "If we have to make space by making trades, so be it. You have to manage your assets and you have to manage expectations. But ultimately, if a player shows he should be here on a...

Re: Alaska Playing For The Cup
The Aces aren't playing for the Kelly Cup anymore this year. They won it Saturday night in Kalamazoo. This is the second time the Aces have won the cup. The first was in the 2005-2006 series when Davis Payne was the head coach in Alaska. The coach this year is Brent Thompson who was an assistant in ...

Re: Alaska Playing For The Cup
It does seem strange for Alaska and Michigan to compete in a league that was at one time the East Coast Hockey League. Several years ago the East Coast Hockey League and West Coast Hockey League were disbanded and now fall under the same umbrella league known simply as the "ECHL".

Alaska Playing For The Cup
After Alaska won just about every title and award this season in the ECHL it has come down to the Alaska Aces vs the Kalamazoo Wings (Michigan) for the ECHL Kelly Cup. Aces have home ice advantage and just finished Game 2 in Anchorage Sunday night. In game 1 on Saturday night the Aces blew out the K...

Well that didn't work out quite the way I planned it. Blues sure made it interesting in the 3rd. Thought there was a comback in the offing but alas, it wasn't to be. Congrats Cracknell on your first goal.

Re: Murray out, Payne in
I watched Davis Payne for is entire tenure up here in Alaska. It was simply inspiring to watch him turn a team that was for sale on ebay into Kelly Cup Champs. When he moved from Alaska to Peoria I predicted that he would one day be head coach of the Blues but I didn't expect it this soon. In fact I...
