Re: Latest Strickland

Lars is certainly ready to crack the line up. He does need to get his penalties under control. Ian Cole may need a partial season here in Peoria. I don't see him staying here to long if the Blues shake up the Defense. IMO I would cut ties with Junland and use him in a trade package. Great offense. J...

Re: Joe Fallon to STL for Toivonen and Richmond

I guess this takes us out of the running for Cory Schneider? Also seems to confirm the fact that Blues brass isn't very high on giving Bishop another shot up here. Don't rule that out yet...Today's Peoria Journal Star speculates that the Blues in fact may take a stab at Schneider. Fallon will chall...

Re: Rivs/Hogs or Blues/Hawks swap players

Armstrong is up because of Walt's pinky. But I suspect more trades are coming. I wouldn't be surprised if we made a move with the Canucks. Scott Mellanby has been a regular in Peoria as of late. Based on the level of scouts in the stands the last two weeks, I would say the Blues are sellers at the t...

Rivs/Hogs or Blues/Hawks swap players

The Rivs/Blues made a goalie and D change. We shipped out Toivonen and D-man Danny Richmond for Rockford Icehogs D-man Daryl Boyle and Goalie Joe Fallon.

Armstrong also headed to St. Louis on a call up.

Re: Improvement?

Don't rush to judge Payner just yet.....He was tossed into this situation. I like the fact that he isn't afraid to juggle the lines and mix guys around. The guy can coach. He is low key off the ice and his bench demeanor is the same. He demands a lot but isn't going to hold your hand. The guys in Pe...

Re: Blues' Russian prospects traded

Lemmy shouldn't of left. Good that he is playing well back at home. He simply didn't adapt to the culture and physical style of play. IMO he thought that he should of been with the Blues from day one. I would like to see him back in the States. He has some skills.

Re: Another great decision by management

Lars Eller took himself out of warm-ups last night with a upper body injury. So Blues fans you are being blessed with Derick Armstrong. He should be in St. Louis today if he made it back from Toronto in time.

on another note. Junlad and Eller both made the AHL All-Star team

Re: JR: Jonas Junland Recalled

Have fun with this one Blues Fans. I went to the Rivs game Friday evening then took in the Blues game Saturday night...Junland had better park it on the blueline and hold on for dear life. He has loads of offensive upside but is extremely slow to recover. This has to be a move to inflate his ego so ...

Re: meanwhile down on the farm...

Agree that Brewer needs a month or so here in Peoria. Eller and Junland are starting out strong. The biggest test will come during the second half of the season. Eller should hit the Euro wall. I have noticed that these guys don't have anything left in the tank during the second half of the season o...

Re: Rivermen 2009-10 schedule

The rumors continue. Can anyone put someone on the spot or ask the questions at camp. Even PT staff for the Rivermen think they are leaving after this season. St. Charles continues to be the destination for us here in Peoria. This isn't being circulated by one fan. To many people with connections co...

Re: Rivermen 2009-10 schedule

The rumors continue to circulate in Peoria. This may be the last schedule we see for Peoria. The Rivermen are in the last year of their lease agreement with the Peoria Civic Center. I do not see AHL hockey in Peoria after this season. I continue to hear the rumors of 1. St. Charles MO 2. Kansas City...

Good for Peoria. Don't count out Richmond squeezing in at the 8th spot on D. He is a bit small but has loads of heart and moves the puck well.

what a kick in the teeth for Holt. Could of used this money to sign Whitfield or a couple of key veterans to start putting bodies in the seats and mentor the youth. The Goalie merry go round continues....

Re: The Official Roman Polak Saga - Offer Sheet Thread

Iam no JD but Junland is in no way ready for the NHL. Just as Polak did, Junland needs another season adjusting to the speed of the AHL. He does well on the offensive end but is very slow in the D zone. Cole and Petrangilo are better suited for the NHL now than Junland is. Strachan is basically repl...

Re: Rivermen want opinion on logo change?

I hope this is coming from the new ownership. Because if the current GM Josh Morin and his staff of lousy sales thought of this....it makes me sick. The current logo is fine. It won't increase clothing and merchandise sales nor will it increase ticket sales. The Rivermen front office needs replaced ...

Re: Rivs playoff thread

Rivs lose game 7. But I enjoyed Petrangelo while he was here. He shows a lot of poise and can learn a lot playing with the Blues next season. He stepped in and played all seven playoff games. Jonus Junland was a scratch the last two games. Junland IMO is a full season or so away from being able to p...

Re: Rivs playoff thread

Rivs win 2-1 and force a game 7. Standout performance for Legace. Jonas Junlad was scratched for game 6. He should sit out game 7 to. We need more speed and discipline on the D side. should be a great game 7.

Re: Rivs playoff thread

Rivs take a 2-0 lead deep into the 3rd only to find themselves losing in OT. It started when Junland takes a delay of game penalty when clearing the puck. Momentum shifted and they scored on the PP. less than a minute later they tie it up and send it into OT. Houston was 2for10 on the PP and Peoria ...
