Re: Tarasenko to Rangers

My son is very happy about the move - he's a huge Rangers fan. He plays goalie and his idol is Lundquist so even though I raised him a Blackhawk fan he converted several years ago to be a Rangers fan instead now. When I told him about the Tarasenko trade going through he was ecstatic. Originally it ...

Re: Tarasenko to Rangers

Good to see you Kerfuffle. In the past two seasons, Tarasenko has expressed displeasure at how he had been utilized by team management. O'Reilly was awarded the C instead of him when Pietrangelo left, and he (Tarasenko) was upset with how the team doctors handled his multiple surgeries, and he felt...

Re: Tarasenko to Rangers

Hi guys - been awhile since I posted. Surprised to see Tank leaving St Louis and trying to get more perspective on this. Yes he was injured for 2 seasons but last year his numbers were excellent and his goal totals back to normal. Why was there a push to move him? I know he's up for a new deal and i...

Re: Official Best Offseason Ever Thread

This is always the tough part - you lose guys after you win. I naively thought my Hawks would keep the band together in 2010 but you find out quickly that EVERYONE wants to be paid. And with a Stanley cup in hand the player agents use that as leverage. Yes it's a nice problem to have. But overall yo...

Did you guys see this? Someone bet $400 on the Blues back in January when they were 400-to-1 odds. Now that's a fan --> https://www.foxnews.com/sports/st-louis ... tanley-cup

Re: GDT SCF Gm 7: 6/12/19 | 7 PM CT | @ Bruins | NBC

It's important that Binnington get a few light touches of the puck in the early minutes to settle the nerves. Worst thing for a goalie is starting a game and not touching the puck for like 5 minutes or more. My son is a goalie and is always the most vulnerable in the first 2 minutes. My wife and I k...

Re: GDT SCF Gm 6: 6/9/19 | 7 PM CT | vs Bruins | NBC

Blues need to come out physical in game 7 - that is where they dominated in games 4 and 5. I thought they looked flat all night in game 6. Too much pressure at home - I think you guys play better when on the road. And what was with the premature newspaper announcement? Not the team's fault of course...

Re: GDT SCF Gm 4: 6/3/19 | 7 PM CT | vs Bruins | NBC

Wow what a game last night! I loved that part in the 2nd period around the 9min mark - the Blues dominated with the puck in the offensive zone for like 2 min - Boston couldn't get their guys off the ice. What a turnaround from a lackluster effort in game 3. Damn what did your coach tell the players ...

Binnington had a .919 svp - that’s pretty damn good. Difference in the game was shots - Blues had 20, Boston had 37, almost double. Need more from the Blues defense.

Re: GDT SCF Gm 1: 5/27/19 | 7 PM CT | @ Bruins | NBC

All in all that could have been a lot worse. Got the butterflies out? Both teams looked a bit like kids who ate too much candy and need to burn off the sugar rush. A bit spastic at times. Normal for game one - everyone’s a little nervous which is understandable. Good thing for Blues is your goalie ...

Re: Stanley Cup Final non-GDT - for all things not on game d

Wanted to get perspective from my friends here on what the turnaround was for this Blues season. Was it coaching? goaltending? Sports are strange and this is the national story and I would put it at the same level as the Kings in 2012 when they snuck in as the 8th seed and then wiped everyone out to...

Re: Tickets for the finals?

Your best best is to pick up tickets on Stubhub for game 3 or 4 - as long as game 4 is not a potential clinching game. Clincher games can add 10x to the face value - easily.

Re: Playoffs discussion

Ultimately I'd prefer Washington because I feel bad for Ovechkin, but I wouldn't be upset with Vegas only because of how much garbage that city had to deal with early in the season. Of course Vegas winning it all in year one could be a death knell down the road. Spoiled fans who won't know what to ...

Re: Playoffs discussion

Go Vegas! They're a fun story this year. Teams will try to emulate what they did - a lot of it has to be luck - all the planets aligned. Didn't renew my season tickets for next season. After 11 years it was time to let them go. My kids play hockey and seeing their games is #1. Plus with the team suc...

Re: Flames sign Jagr

For such a low money contract, and at his age, the fact that he thought Calgary was even remotely closer to winning the Cup than St. Louis better be some bulletin board material for the entire season. I agree Glen but my guess is he is just looking to sign in the offseason with the best money/contr...

Re: Fabbri injured... again

The bad part too is it will be 18-24 months total time out of the NHL with most of that unable to skate. My kids play and they say if they don't skate for a month or two they notice it on the ice in terms of leg strength. 18-24 months could end his career.

Re: Trades and Signings

Yea as others have said he really wanted to play in New York and its been known for years. As far as only the four year term that's reportedly what the Rangers (wisely) were prepared to give him and nothing more. Ironically, one of the top defenseman free agents found himself in a position of littl...
