Re: Blues sign free agent..
The team was (apparently) very impressed with the way he maned up and admitted he wasn't 'committed' enough and the proactive steps he took in regards to the trainer and the nutritionist. I think it also shows responsibility and maturity that he agreed to the pay cut. Stewart "Maned up", done (terr...

I'm excited for the game. I think tonight is when we find out for sure whether they are in it to win it or not. Interestingly, ESPN has a minor typo/prophecy on the NHL page right now if you hover over the article title for the Kings/Blues preview:

Re: 2012 Playoff Suspension Thread
Wow. Pretty in-depth look at the hit and how, granted in retrospect and removed from the situation, Kerry would have handled it. I would say the proper call is 5 and a game misconduct. King clearly didn't mean to injure, but that's only why there should be no suspension. Recall Shaw being suspended ...

Re: 2012 Playoff Suspension Thread
If you watched the pens/flyers game 4 you could see the crackdown starting. Something started after the whistle was basically an instant ejection. The last 2 Blues games have been pretty low key as well. Can't say I'm surprised with the Torres decision, this was their opportunity to make a statement...

LA is especially scary, in part, because of Brown and Richards. Those guys are freaking awesome. Someone lock #25 in a video room watching those two guys for several hours. Maybe that'll knock some sense into his lazy ass. Lock him in a room and have him watch David Backes video from any time or Be...

Re: 2012 Playoff Suspension Thread
There's no way that they can give Torres just 3 games. I'm not saying that is what I favor. But for them to ban him for 10+ games like some (not here, other boards) are suggesting would be to directly admit that the officials seriously messed up. I think that factors in a little. I've seen people a...

2012 Playoff Suspension Thread
This is getting pretty intense. Most games have featured an event that warrants suspension consideration. Some have been handed down, others (like Sharks hits on Nichol/McDonald) have not. Thought it was an interesting discussion starter, so here are a few of the notable ones to start with. Asham ge...

And in leaving his feet (or at least elevating the point of contact), his shoulder appears to directly demolish Hossa's head. Shaw got 3 after being dismissed from the game. What will Shanahan decide?

Re: Breakdown of Galiardi's Hit on McDonald
Well the Shaw decision is in: 3 games for the hit on Smith. I, personally, think time served was more than enough. But the league has disagreed and Shaw has been SHANABANNED!

Re: Western Standings, 6 April
Maybe karma from the CLB win is hitting LA in the form of Ryane Clowe? From the bench, he puts his stick on the ice to interfere with Stoll heading up the boards. Clearly touches the puck. No call. And afterwards he (Clowe) acts oblivious to anything happening. http://espn.go.com/losangeles/video/cl...

The hyperbolic chamber is uncomfortable as s***. Probably would just exacerbate the concussion, especially if you made them find the saddle point.

Re: GDT: 2011 Free Agency
There seems to be some growing interest in the Blues' front office in signing one of either Jamie Langenbrunner or Tomas Fleischmann. Fleischmann's best season came in 2009-10 with Washington, where he tallied 23 goals and 28 assists in 69 games played. From "NickBoston" on hockeybuzz. I saw Fleisc...

Re: NHL TV Rights Thread
This is the ideal time to get a contract with ESPN. The NFL is heading for a potential work stoppage which means ESPN would have to reduce its 24/7 coverage of the NFL to about 21/7. The NBA is also having CBA rumblings. If BOTH of these majors went down for a year or even part of one the NHL would ...

It isn't like Stewart and Shattenkirk don't have high ceilings either. They were also 1st round selections. Stewart is already producing at near a point per game. I'm excited for this deal. Johnson may end up a stud, but after seeing Pietrangelo make Erik an afterthought when you name the top young ...

Oshie activated, expected to play tonight
From Blues official site: ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Tuesday the club has activated forward T.J. Oshie from injured reserve. Oshie has missed 31 games after suffering a fractured left ankle on November 10th in Columbus. He is exp...

Not sure if anyone else saw this during tonight's Mizzou/K-State game, but this dance is spreading through Mizzou as well. They play the song at football and basketball games and lots of people do it. I know because I've been to almost all the games, the band especially gets into it.
