Re: How about some real blues awards
What are you calling blues? Who are you naming blues awards after? Here is where you should be going: Big George Brock award Silvercloud award Fontella Bass award Henry Townsend award Johnnie Johnson award Oliver Sain award Albert King award Peetie Wheatstraw & Lonnie Johnson award...

Re: GDT#33: 12/21/11 > Blues @ Avs > 8:30PM > FSMW/KMOX
One thing this game showed me is that while we're really, really close, we're still missing a piece of the puzzle. We might want to start looking around now. I'm not against making a trade to improve the team, but I wouldn't make any trade decisions based on one game...especially when they have bee...

Re: Maybe we can finally move Jacks........
You swap disappointments and hope for the best. We did that last year and now both clubs are disappointed again (at least with EJ and Stew). Nah. Even with Stewart sucking, we still win that trade because Shattenkirk has been great. Again....the point.......both EJ and Stewart are disappointments o...

Re: Maybe we can finally move Jacks........
You know, if we're talking about moving Jacks, let's package him with Halak and Stewart and a pick and see what we get offered. Stewart has last years stats for collateral and the change of scenery/issues with the front office excuse might make him appealing. Halak, imho, has some value, though I pe...

Halak + Stewart + Draft Pick + Eat a chunk of Halak's salary for a proven scorer. Get these fools out of here.

Proposal : Hurricanes receive Colaiacovo, D'agostini, Ponich, 3rd round pick Blues receive Pitkanen Pitkanen played under Hitchcock in '05-'06 and was the top scoring defenseman for the Flyers at 22 years old. He had more points than Jeff Carter and Mike Richards, with fewer games. Now at 28, Pitka...

Re: Would you trade.....
I never believed Pronger to be a piece of our puzzle. I've always felt he was one of those guys who'd always be a piece to someone else's, like Brett Hull was, etc. (Imho for Hull to have been our piece, we'd have to had kept Adam Oates.)

I say let them sink. We can't afford to give much up and we wouldn't get much back in return, anyway.

It also looks like Berglund is turning the corner like he did last season. He only had one real "mis-play" when he tried to reverse direction and got knocked on his butt. His goal, though, was from working in the corner and staying strong on the puck. He has been doing that for a few games now. If ...

Re: Brian Elliot Overhype
I still think the way to reign in goalies is to shrink pads and gear. Patrick Roy was 6'2 and wore 33" pads, and he was one of the first goalies to have the "overlylarge" pads. Tim Thomas is 5'11 and wears 37" pads. That doesn't include how much wider pads are today. Or how mich bigger gloves and b...

Re: Brian Elliot Overhype
You have to trade something great to get something great. I say we trade Elliot while his value is at its peak, for a proven scorer (Bobby Ryan, Getzlaf, Phil Kessel?). I say we kick our offensive guns in the behind and get them to start scoring goals (You know who I'm looking at). Problem isn't la...

Re: Brian Elliot Overhype
Given his history with St. Louis, should I take Bobby Orr nudging a young goalie to take a stab at the NHL, who now plays (excellent) goal for us as a (ironic) sign?

Re: Brian Elliot Overhype
I'm an idiot? Well, let's look at your post: I think it's great that Elliot is playing so well and i'm exited to see if he can continue this level of play, but can we take a step back from humping his leg and calling for the blues to extend him immediately? He's not the first goalie to come to St. L...

Halak is the one who is Overhyped, not to mention Overpaid and Underachivening and requiring Hitch to set him straight on his position within the organization. Elliott, on the other hand, along with Hitch, Langenbrunner, a healthy Perron, a producing Backes, and Arnott are the missing pieces to our ...

The Rivermen 'Mariner-Chewing-On-a-Puck' image looks a THOUSAND times better than quite a few NHL Logos. Don't hate.

An odd observation, but despite popular opinion, doesn't the C on Thornton's uniform really stand for C_nt?
